UWA Publishing, with support from the Copyright Agency Cultural Fund, have announced the 6 writers from across Australia who have been shortlisted for the award. The judges for the award are Tony Hughes-d’Aeth, Astrid Edwards, Thuy On and Kate Pickard. They have noted that the 6 manuscripts “are a sterling representation of all that is good in Australian literature today.”
The shortlist:

– Jeremy Tager for ‘Vanishment’
– Kaya Ortiz for ‘Past and Parallel Lives’
– Kimberley Lipschus for ‘The Lost House’
– Rachel Bowman for ‘The Fear of Empty Spaces’
